“The internet is scary shit” - Sarah

So I just looked at my flickr and saw that people have been getting there from googling my name and my hometown, which, given that I have a fairly common name, is one of the few ways to get relevant hits. I guess I was a little sketched out, but nothing more than usual, until I googled the same thing, just to see what else came up.

The first result was for some webpage, PeekYou.com, which I had never heard of prior to today. Regardless of that fact, 5 people have viewed the profile which has manifested there for “me” which includes a three year old picture from the myspace that I haven’t logged into in a year, and haven’t actively used in two or three.

As Sarah just put it, when I showed her all my findings, the internet is indeed scary shit. Thankfully, all the rest of the search results for my name and hometown have to do with academics and local newspaper articles, but seriously, creepy stuff.
