This is probably an overshare
I’m really fucking hairy. Like, absurdly hairy. I stopped shaving for the better part of three months because I get so many ingrown hairs from hair removal that I end up getting frustrated and the frustration isn’t worth the awesome feeling of being smooth. Add to that, then, that my (dark black) hair roots are super close to the surface of my skin (a skin so pale that I actually am lighter than the lightest makeup shades for sale, not that I use them anyway) and you meet two issues: my leg hair becomes stubble again within about six to twelve hours of shaving, and even directly after shaving, you can still see all these dark spots all over my legs thanks to my hair/skin combination.
And that’s just my lower legs. My thighs are another story entirely. The hairs grown in 12 directions. There is no rhyme or reason to it. I once had an aesthetician who had no idea how to even begin waxing my legs because the hair patterns are just that crazy.
I actually was seriously considering laser treatment (at least on my thighs) but it’s something that I can’t afford at this point in my life.
So two weeks ago I shaved for the first time. It took two Fusion razors to get rid of the forest that had grown on my legs (seriously, we measured, I had one hair that was over 4 centimeters long) and then I put so much tea-tree oil on my legs that my boyfriend had to avoid the bedroom for nearly a day.
No matter how well I shave, though, I can’t get the hairs from the insides of my thighs gone, ever. I’m not sure if it’s because of the direction of hair growth or what. I know that waxing or sugaring (I like Moom) works, but razors just don’t cut it. Which brings us to my problem: the hair problem area is right where my thighs touch, and the hairs manage to irritate my skin like nothing else. All other areas of my legs are fine, and when there’s no hair there (from waxing or whatever) or if I’m wearing pants, then I’m fine. But skirts, dresses? Forget about it. I’ll be okay at the beginning of the day, but by the time I return home, I’ll have a painful scratched up rash-y type thing that takes days to calm down.
So I request your assistance, internet, as it is summer and I am on my last nerve. Has anyone else had this issue? Does anyone know how to solve the problem (aside from the obvious solution of waxing or sugaring, which is messy and expensive)?
