I have 18 days in October to kill while waiting for school to begin, during which time I have absolutely no plans whatsoever. This, obviously, presents several options - one of which is to fly to Iceland, which I’ve been dying to do. Another is to stay on continent and take a couple side trips - flights to Copenhagen are currently $50, and London is under $40 (via Ryanair and Easyjet, but at those prices I’m willing to put up with it, you know?). Portugal in October, when Berlin starts to get chilly, sounds like a great idea to me.
That being said, I’m sort of waiting to plan anything to see the last two Plastikman live dates announced. I missed out on his performance at DEMF this year, as I had to stay in Berlin, and although Audioriver in Poland is just a few hour train ride away, it’s taking place on one of the two weekends all summer that I absolutely cannot go, as my parents and little sister will be visiting. We may actually head to Prague that weekend, which would be awesome, but it really screws over my initial plan to go see Richie Hawtin live.
So that leaves me with Glasgow (in two weeks), or somewhere in Belgium/Holland/the UK later on this summer (August / September) which is much harder to make happen just because of logistics with class and such. I’ll make it happen, somehow.
My other option for October (or maybe in addition to some minor European travel?) is to head back to Boston for a week. Flights are currently holding strong at $500, which is so reasonable it makes my head explode.
I don’t know. Suggestions are gladly accepted, as I’d like to figure out my plan of attack sooner, rather than later, so that I can get some sweet deals.
