to-do

- develop a taste for and become addicted to caffeine
- attend saturday’s party? on drugs obvs
- go to new york to track down my heart and watch it deflate
- commence & complete the wrapping of presents
- call nyu and see if they can transfer me into gallatin before i step-foot on campus (as in, how was i supposed to know before entering my gap year that i wouldn’t want to matriculate to the college of arts and science when it wasn’t even the school i wanted to attend)
- make my father understand that gallatin isn’t a ‘general studies’ program, and that despite his belief as a professor he knows better than i do.

opinions, please: if i major in comp. lit within cas, then i won’t have the same individualized program of study that i would if i majored in comp. lit in gallatin. at the moment, my plan is to continue on to grad school and ultimately do phd work in comparative literature. he’s screaming that if he was looking at graduate applications, seeing that i majored in history (which is what he teaches) within cas would mean more than gallatin. i disagree, seeing as comparative literature is a screwed up discipline.

i don’t know. this argument is getting so old, especially since he keeps throwing in that fact that i’m 100% aware that i want to transfer out of nyu before even arriving there.
