German study finds that babies cry in accents
The German babies cried with a falling intonation, while the French babies wailed with rising tones – mirroring the different intonation patterns of each language, the researchers found.
Babies are neat!
Just the other day I noted that you can tell I’m an American when I laugh / you can tell Germans are German when they laugh. And now The Local shares this tidbit. Pretty cool.
