My mom and sister are coming from July 29 - Aug 15
And my dad at some point during that period of time, too.
I’m so excited!
Olive Ciabatta from the Bio-Markt
total win
Just finished moving in!
Just finished moving into the new apartment (kinda - things still need to be seriously organized, but everything is here). Our new next door neighbor - the guy that lived directly above the old apartment - is super cool. He and I spoke for a few minutes when he saw me standing in the door, and cracked several jokes about studying chemistry. He was super concerned and asked if his alarm clock ever...
Key handover for our new apartment is going to take place tomorrow, which gives me the better part of three days to move all of our things. I am thrilled.
Just got home from school and a subsequent visit to the grocery store, where I found some excellent produce (fresh strawberries, crisp zucchini, green peppers, avocado, and sweet potato! for sweet potato and feta fritters), not to mention some awesome cheese and bread, as well as quinoa and conchiglioni. Now I’m so overwhelmed by my options for dinner - stuffed shells? quinoa with...
I really miss my family today.
In the past 12 months, I have slept through a flight, broken my foot on a flight, and now I’ve been refused entry at the gate. And it wasn’t my fault! Thanks, Ryanair. I’m now on a train to Glasgow so that I can get home sometime today. Vfdwdfgjvdsqih.
Sometimes my left foot begins to ache and I wonder if my Jones fracture ever really healed. I should really get it x-rayed at some point.
Bought my Wellies yesterday and have been enjoying my brief stint as a really drunk British university student. Edinburgh is beautiful and I only wish I had gotten a bit more sleep.
I FOUND MY RETAINERS TODAY
that may not be important
Sometime in the past 6 months my vocabulary...
Now, I drink two things - milk and “juice” - with juice being anything that is not milk.
For instance: “I want juice” “What kind?” “Ginger ale”
Vanilla Rooibos
How did I miss out on this shit for 20 years?
Celebrating our successful discovery of a new apartment (one entire floor above the current one) and my awesome grades on yesterday’s German exam.
Also, I thought today was October? Yeah.
Just because your girlfriend/wife/baby mama chose a terrible spot to park her double wide stroller (directly in front of the only functioning subway doors on the train, infact), where it is blocking the whole car, is no reason for you to request that I wait for a different stop to get off the train, sir, but thank you anyway.
Is it just me, or do stroller pushing parents always seem so incredibly...
It really sucks when you’re super tired but already took a three hour nap and can’t fall back asleep - and further more, you’re not sure if you should go back to sleep yet, as you need a solid night’s sleep as you have a test in the morning and it’s only 9 PM and you probably won’t sleep until 6 AM if you go to bed now.
It's a great day
I woke up super early to proofread a letter in German, and ate some fresh strawberries (which were awesome). I had time to straighten my hair for the first time in probably a year (I’m super lazy when it comes to such things), and am wearing a new dress. I just ate my new favorite snack food, too - cottage cheese with Frank’s Red Hot - which I highly suggest trying out, y’all.
I'm just going to listen to Okkervil River and
and and and
five am peanut butter and jelly on a brötchen
it’s totally the small things
We’re thinking Barcelona next month, for Sonar, but nothing is booked nor set in stone yet, so this is all tentative but it’s something I would definitely like to do, so hopefully everything pans out. Especially since apparently the pill is available OTC in Spain. I’d like to get up on that.
Things have been moving at warp speed. Yesterday was Christi Himmelfahrt, so class was...
The pie is done and I'm burnt out from studying
Movie break time. Blow is available for instant streaming. Think I’ve figured how I’m spending the next two hours.
Jeffrey is asleep
So what do I decide to bake for him to eat when he awakes? Apple pie, but of course.
Hope it turns out as delicious as my last one
I was super excited when I first received the...
But then I took a look at their selection. It’s been a solid four or five years since I last purchased anything off of Threadless, and it’s safe to say that in that time I’ve outgrown the aesthetic completely.
I’ll probably buy another Communist Party tee, as mine is getting pretty ratty, and I do love it to death, but everything else is just so not me anymore.
I know beyond reasonable doubt that if I take adderall and vitamins in the morning before putting food into my stomach, then I turn into a geyser that makes Old Faithful look like child’s play. For some reason that didn’t stop me this morning, and as I type this from the subway 45 minutes later, I’m still covered in a cold sweat.
Jeff was awake and I was making ginger ale with...
I just had a terrible 15 minutes where I thought I...
But one of my classmates just walked into the room and picked something up off the floor and asked if it was mine and (!!!) it was my SPF 15 plus moisturizer ChapStick and suddenly the skies opened up and I told him how he just made my day and saved me from a very dark place and the saddest thing of all is that it’s all 100% true.
Laying in bed in pajama pants and an oversized sweater is the only way to spend a rainy day (at least until I buy rainboots).
My teacher just asked me about the bruises on my neck. And I shrugged it off and said “oh, I always have them” and he started to laugh at me.
I live with a vampire, and it’s okay.
Those mornings
I woke up this morning and knew instantly if I just turned off my alarm, I would be back asleep within seconds and would likely wake back up in three or four hours - feeling much better but having missed the better part of the school day.
So I re-set my alarm for 20 minutes later and it’s those 20 minutes that will totally save my day.
